Sometimes we think we’ve bitten off more than we can chew.
We now have a ship to run. The reason we bought it was because the scientists we dealt with said they really needed a ship with the capabilities to do something about the clear damage to the world’s oceans.
The former HMNZS Manawanui was an opportunity we couldn’t ignore. Nobody was more surprised than us when the tender for the decommissioned dive support ship was successful.
We have research to do and fuel to put in the ship. Maintenance, fuel, scientific expertise, crew, food and supplies, engineering, spares, the list is endless. They all mount up.
